President Palin to be sworn in to office

I actually have quite an open mind as to who becomes President.

War is never right, and George Bush has wasted 5 trillion dollars in Iaq - and more than 4,000 American soldiers and nearly 70,000 civilians including children have died.

The war has bought America to its knees, and big financial institutions are falling over every month. This would not be happening if the Iraq war had not started. Far to much emphasis has been placed on maintaining the "war machine" mentality for decades.

Barrick is a new broom sweeping through America, but we have to remember that radical changes are difficult to push through Congress. One man truly can make a difference, but he won't get things all his own way.

To stop a war we must first walk a mile in the shoes of the enemy, to see what is fuelling his hatred of America.

The Middle East is a powder chest of multiple religions which could take another 2,000 years to sort out. It is a festering sore that the USA would be better to keep away from. Just write a check for the oil purchases, but keep out of the politics.

McCain is a decent guy, but he won't make the "top spot for me" until he does quite a bit more to help hungry children. A man who has been a prisoner of war should be more understanding of oppressed lower class.

Sexy Sarah could make a good President if all members of Congress will work with her as a team effort to bring greater prosperity to the lower income earners in America.

A President should help all members of society, not just those that elected him/her into office. Jesus did not show preferences, all of God's children are special in their own unique way.

I guess there will be a lot of men falling about her feet if she becomes President, mesmerized by her fluttering eyelashes.

Poor choices

Personally, My thoughts on this election is that both candidates are in my opinion wrong for the USA at this time. I will enter the polling booth with one hand holding my nose and the other pulling the lever for whom I think will do the least harm. And then go about my next 4 years hoping I am right.

Josetta,
One thing we can agree on is war is never right. The rest of your "facts" are garbage.
Current estimates through FY2008 are that the Iraq war will have cost a total of approximately 660 billion. That is according to actual budget numbers, including supplementals.
It is tragic that anyone has to die in a war. Our side or theirs, but it is a war and people do die. As for coalition soldiers, yes, approximately 4500 have died in total, 4100+ were American. As for Civilian casualties on the Iraqi side, the numbers vary so widely, I am surprised anyone has the stones to publish a number. Iraqi casualty estimates range from 400,000 to 1.1 million, but that includes Iraqi soldiers who opposed the initial invasion and insurgents who continue to be a pain in the butt. No realistic numbers have been drawn together of actual civilian, non-insurgent deaths so your 70,000 number is a fantasy. That being said, one civilian, non-insurgent death is too many.

The war had absolutely bloody nothing to do with the failure of the financial institutions. Will you please take an economics course? The brokerages failed, because they became too heavily invested in sub-prime mortgages (bad management). AIG failed, because there have been some EXTREMELY costly disasters in the last few years - Katrina, Ike, Iowa and Mississippi flooding. Many of those people were insured. AIG had to make good on the insurance policies. That is why they are failing. Get this fantasy out of your head. The war has nothing to do with these businesses failing.
Barrack has been great on sound bites and glittering generalities, but I have not heard much of actual details of his plans. Maybe that is my fault for not going to his and McCain's web site yet to check out their actual proposals, but I have not heard much from either candidate in terms of specifics in speeches or soundbites. Maybe I will in the debates, but I doubt it. Content doesn't get people elected. Sound bites do. As for him being a new broom, bull pockey. As soon as anyone gets to DC, it eats them alive, whether they had good intentions to begin with or not. They get too caught up in the game and forget why they are there. Almost as soon as they get there, congressmen and women are getting ready for the next re-election campaign. That is the major problem and that is why PACs have so much influence there. Money talks, bullshit walks.
The Middle East will never be sorted out until the Lord returns. Do you know why the muslims over there hate us (and not all do. One of my best friends is a muslim from Jordan. He has given me great insight into why people feel the way they do over there. Insight I never would have gotten on my own.)? Simple. Israel. They hate us, because they see Israel as having taken their land, etc. etc. and us supporting Israel. Israel was given that land by the UN in reparations for what the Nazis did to them in WWII. It is the traditional home of Israel, according to the bible. It is bigger than what was originally given them by the UN. Do you know why? Again. Simple. The muslim nations that surround Israel could not accept the land being given to Israel by the UN. So, they attacked Israel. Israel stomped a mud-hole in them. To the victor go the spoils. You attack us, we're going to make sure we annex the high ground around our country so you can't do it again. That is the conflict. Yes, the muslim - jewish hatred goes back many millenia. We sell Israel weapons. Guess what? We also sell them to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, the list goes on. We do not show favortism. We do not sell them to terrorist supporting nations like Syria or Hezbollah. That is their big beef with the USA. My opinion: screw em. Israel has a right to exist just like they do. If they can't deal with it and diplomacy hasn't worked over the last many thousands of years, turn em into a parking lot. We have a lot of muslims here in the USA. They are respectful of our laws and our citizens. They are not trying to commit jihad against every American. They act normally and civilized. Why is it when you get outside this country there are so many that act like animals and are intolerant of ANY other type of people?
You seem to be very stuck on helping hungry children. Stick with it. That is a noble cause. But you have to realize, there are so many charities out there that need help. And there is only so much money. That is no reason to decide a presidency. You have to take all of the issues into account. You are doing the same thing that both extremes of the abortion issue do. Focusing on one problem or proposal. We are talking about something as huge as the USA or the World. One issue just won't cut it.
As for Sarah Palin, she's far hotter than anyone we have had near the White House, except for Jackie O. However, that does not qualify her to run the country. I am a little leery of her seemingly far right wing leanings. But obviously, a lot of guys think with their small head, instead of their big one.
Ok. Two things we agree on. 1. War is bad. 2. A President has a duty to all of his countrymen, not just the ones who voted for him or donated to him.

Impressive read there honey. Why argue over how much the war cost? The correct answer is it cost too damn much! It was run on credit.

Secondly in Iraq today there is a drop in violence due to the admission that Baby Bush and company was wrong and didn't send in enough troops to begin with combined with paying off warlords and factions! When we leave and or quit paying money lets see what happens.

Keeping with you words about running on one issue. The religious argument you espouse concerning the state of Israel is flawed deeply. First please don't bring the UN into it. The fact is the UN was created largely by the influence and arm twisting of US and the US had great pull (no pun intended) to get Israel recognized after the US stood up and recognized her as a state. How the hell can the at the time US led "puppet" UN gave away land that was not their to give. The same occured with the division of India and Pakistan which is still at war today with no end in site, along with, YES, the artificailly created boundries around Iraq!

What we are witnessing throughout the World today is just the continuation of the meddling of the European White Man (including the US) throughout the world taking over entire countries and then trying to recreate them along with new borders and the like. The end result is conflicts which continue and will continue and come back and bite us in the ass.

I agree with your positions about the people of the middle east, however, the basic fact is that Israel was basically created after WW2 due to the Jews wanting to get the hell out of Europe (can't blame them). So they followed other Jews to the Land we now call Israel.

I bet if Native Americans showed up our shores and began moving into our neighborhoods and forcing todays American out of their homes and neighborhoods, taking away their lands and such, planting bombs and the like and forcing millions of white Americans to Canadan or Mexico all hell would break loose here to. But why, this land was theirs before we took it.

The basic difference between America and Israel is that in American the Whites were smart enough to basically kill or starve to death enough Natives to bring them down to a manageable size so we could basically control them and remove them to isolated areas without fear of reprisal.

The Jews basically invented the terrorist in the Middle East. It was some of the former Primeres and Prime Ministers who were bombers and the like in order to get the British Peace Keepers to leave.

The Jews took land, homes, possessions and the like that had been other peoples for a thousand years or more, and the US has backed them in every way. Also each and every time the Jews fire US made arms and kill and mame others they see the US as just as much an enemy.

Fact is the difference between McCain and Palin and Obama and Biden, will be McCain will perpetuate the conflicts and war the this Country can no longer aford!

Its time to rebuild our Nation and our Military is depleated in terms of both personnel and weaponry.

You can't continue War on credit, throughout history this is what has led to the downfall of the greatest empires.

If we don't get back to rebuilding our infrastructure, creating real jobs/not service jobs, working on alternative energys, and solving our own problems, we are doomed.

McCain and some male sexual fantaization about a milf are not going to do this.

Handigrl,
First, please show me the respect I show others. I do not call people sweetie or honey or anything else in a derogatory nature. I understand you are passionate about how you feel, but you still should show respect to others, especially if you disagree with them, or you weaken your arguments.
Second, I am arguing over how much the war cost, because the price is vastly inflated, again, weakening the argument in hyperbole that is spewed forth by those who have opposed the war from the beginning. Were they right to oppose it? yes. Do they severely damage their argument by using vastly inflated numbers to justify their position? definitely. This problem exists on both sides of this war effort and has existed on both sides of polarizing issues since the beginning of time. Both sides would be far better served to just use the facts and let the people decide when they are armed with the truth. If they had done that in the beginning, we probably would not be at war in Iraq.
Third, No, there was no religious argument concerning the creation of modern day Israel. It was created as reparations for what the Jews suffered during WWII. Now, it WAS the traditional home of Israel for many thousands of years. That is written in the bible and in many other Greek and Roman texts.
Fourth, read some history books. The UN was not created due to US arm twisting, as you so eloquently put it. It was created out of the remnants of the League Of Nations, when the "big" countries of the time realized there were issues that could not be addressed by just one nation and that a coalition of nations was needed. The UN is, in no way, a puppet of the USA. In fact, they are FAR more socialistic than the original founders had in mind. And in many issues they are vastly ANTI-USA, even when we are right. Simply, because we are the USA and no one likes the big guy on the block being right.
I agree with you that there were many atrocities committed by Israelis when Israel was being formed in 1948. Terrorism is wrong no matter who commits the act. However, if the opposition movements had not been so violent, the atrocities would not have been deemed necessary. Again, that doesn't make it right.
And you are right, if anyone came to our shores and tried to take our homes away, we would kick their ass back to the stone age.
Again, I cannot disagree with what you say about some of the current and past Prime Ministers and Generals of Israel.
As for the European white man (including Americans) taking over countries and recreating borders, it is not just us. Ask the Moors, the Mongolians, the Assyrians, the Egyptians. It has been going on since the beginning of time. The difference is, for the most part, we don't go in just to conquer a country for the sake of conquering it. For the most part, we go in to free the people of the country. As in Grenada or Panama or Gulf War I. Occasionally, we make mistakes or are tricked into making mistakes. This is the world we live in.
As for any admission that Bush and crew did not send in enough troops initially, why would that affect the violence now? As for admissions we were mistaken in going in at all, I have heard none from anyone in the administration. As for paying off warlords and factions, do you have any proof of that? Has anyone in the administration admitted that? Those are serious charges without proof.
As for affording the war, we will find a way to afford it until we get out. We have no choice. Our men and women are over there and need equipment and supplies. Whether the war is wrong or not, pulling out en mass would be a major disaster and pulling out piecemeal would be an even bigger disaster, because it would leave our people with inadequate cover. We have to finish what we started or turn the place into a parking lot to safeguard our troops and workers when they leave.
Our military is not depleted in terms of weaponry and personnel. They are tired. With a proper rotation schedule (not what we have now), the personnel issues would go away. As for weaponry, we have plenty. The only times a shortage appears is when congress decides to play games with the funding for political reasons.
Your next to last paragraph about rebuilding things is brilliant. Don't change a thing there. I totally agree.
Your last paragraph falls off the wagon again. I am not sure either McCain or Obama can do what needs to be done. And, as I said, I am very skeptical of Palin. For me, the difference is experience and working relationships. McCain has it, Obama does not. McCain has spent a long time on Capitol Hill and knows how to work with the people up there to get things accomplished. He knows what egos to stroke and what asses to kick. Obama does not know them from Adam.

The lands currently Israel was lands under control of the British after the war. They tried to keep peace there however it was due to a religious movement called Zionism and how the Jews felt after the end of WW|II that lead to Jews migrating to what is now called Israel.

The UN did evolve from the league of nations, and I am sure you will not argue that the US was the prime architech of both? Also, it was the recognition of the State of Israel (no other Nation had recognized Israel) and arm twisting by the US after the War that got Israel UN recognition.

The cost of a war when you have no money are astronomical. If you are doing it on the credit card the cost rise exponentially.

The violence in Iraq after we invaded was due to not having enough troops on the ground which the Bush administration had errored on not listening to the Generals going in.

Thats what the surge was all about correcting the error without formally admitting it. Commonpractice of calling it something else!

The military is depleted. We could not fight another conflict throughout the world. Sure we have nukes out the butthole, but we won't use them.

I will say with the current economic events manpower maynot be a problem short term afterall.

However, great sums of money will again have to be paid out to replenish and replace equipment used and depleted in Iraq!

We have an aging air force that needs many craft replaced.

Well done Handigirl ! And thank you to all members and their families friends and loved ones who serve everyday so we can even debate these issues without being afraid of having a corupt government (like in so many other countries) put us away for life or even kill us for our opinions. Freedom isn't Free. It cost's money.

If I have to here one more time from most uneducated democrates (I'm not saying all are uneducated, just the ones that I'm talking about here) that the only...Yes I said "only" reason they are voting for Obama is because he's Black! I will vomit! Vote for a leader not a color!

Alright, now back to the videos! Have a great day everyone and play nice.

Have to bag the voice, though, I think. I can forgo the anal.

Lets see if this works.

Nevertheless, I think it's cool.

Okay, me for her body double.

Why are we arguing about this sham election anyway? Everybody knows BOTH parties are in the pocket of Trilateral Commission (aka Bildeburgers aka Council on Foreign Affairs aka One World Government). In fact every president for the last 50 years has been their puppet. The only reason we still have elections is so that the ignorant masses still think we have a voice and a choice in our fate; it doesn't matter who wins, in the end it will be the agenda of the Internationalists that is advanced. Bush and Clinton both worked for them; Clinton made sure NAFTA became law and Bush signed the agreement with Mexico and Canada that has/will effectively erased our borders. Both should be tried for treason, but neither will because their bosses wouldn't allow it. So here we are arguing about what dickhead occupies the white house next when the fact is, either one will take us to the same fate... the only difference is that the Republicans do it under cover of night; Democrats say "Fuck You" and do it in broad daylight.

Time to get your guns, boys and girls!

AIG failure

It should be noted that AIG did not fail because there were more than average disasters, if there had been no disasters AIG would have still failed. The company failed because of the mortgage collapse and the company's dabbling in esoteric instruments and default credit swaps, not because their core business, insurance, failed.

Ah yes... the woman who will hand Obama his ass come November. And to think if he'd only picked Hillary he'd have had this thing in the bag.

Seriously, if this clown doesn't have the JUDGEMENT to pick the proper person to fill a job that "isn't worth a warm pitcher of spit," as one of our former leaders put it, what's he going to do when he's faced by a rogue nation with a nuke pointed at New York or LA???

sounds like a good idea to me.

The true cost of the Iraq war will be kept under wraps for 30 years under the Official Secrets Act. Even if it was 660 billion, the cost of servicing the loans can zap the final costs into the zillions. You would be most surprised to discover that many countries are still paying off war loans 30 years later.

The real worry with the American economy is that we can no longer trust Balance Sheets. Financial wiz kids are taking incredible risks (sometimes for the kicks of an inflated EGO) with the intention of getting an edge for the big commissions that they can earn. Wouldn't be so bad if they only got a base salary.

If the Federal Reserve had not stepped in, America would now be in the grip of history's worst economic disaster. The Salvation Army would be feeding everyone from soup kitchens. Houses would be for sale for $100.

America runs on "pretend paper money" - the money does not exist at all.

Gold is real, but paper is a promise-to-pay that may not be kept. Value only exists because there are at least two buyers willing to outbid each other.

If there are two buyers for three houses, each seller will keep dropping his selling price to attract a sale (or be stuck with an unsold property).

If there are three buyers for two houses, the auction bidding keeps rising until one buyer hits his bidding limit and then pulls out of the contest.

Many houses were built for $5,000 and now have a valuation of $300,000 because a shortage of affordable houses kept pushing up the "perceived value".

If Americans decided to all live in caves, then houses would not even be worth a dollar each.

The big guys create artificial demand for assets by manipulating shortages and excesses deliberately to work in their favor. They set themselves up to win when the market rises and also when it falls. They know when it will fall, and also when it will rise, because they know how much money to inject or withdraw to move the sharemarket or real estate the way they want it move.

In a drought, farmers sell a lot of stock because they can't feed them, and the price at market drops drastically. When it begins to rain again in large amounts, the price of stock to replace them goes up to dizzy heights.

The only saving grace for many Americans is that many banks have insurance in place to protect customer deposits - but this could also fall apart if the insurance companies have not spread their insurance cover into enough other countries to minimise their local ********.

The richest men in the world will make big bucks out of the current American crisis - they have the funds to step in and pick up stressed assets at "fire sale prices" on terms that make them feel like dozens of delicious orgasms are rushing up and down their spine. They have seen the crisis building for several years, and therefore positioned themselves to pounce at critical mass, which fulfills the Bible Prophesy that the rich will get richer, and for the poor even the few crumbs they have will be taken from them.

But Karma may yet have the last laugh, when the rich man has a greedy look on his face when he tries to sneak into Heaven. The poor people of the world could easily be sitting in judgement as the rich man begs naked on his hands and knees for forgiveness.

Imagine two doors before the rich man, both have the letter "H". It might be the door to Hell or it might be the door to Heaven. How will he decide which door to open? If he enters the wrong one........God won't save him.

The problem with the Middle East is that no one is keeping to the "do not kill" rule, but rather "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth".

I wish the leaders of the world would play marbles and accept a toasted marshmellow as the winner's grin. Then go home and shag their wives with all the fury of a man in love. If there was a lot more shagging, there would be a lot less war.

I would not want to be one of the families who have lost sons in the Iraq war. To raise a child to become "cannon fodder" for a senseless war. The body bags are filling up, every day another family feels a stab in their heart as they learn their strapping young son got his foot blown off or his guts blown out by shrapnel. All those years of seeing your son grow up.....and then your heart is stabbed with a pain that never goes away.

I hate those fucking politicians who sent our young men to a senseless war. Don't ask me what I would like to see done to them, because it ain't nice".

Are you for real? I don't think you have any clue how the world really works. Why do you think the Russians attacked Georgia? We have a choice here, to either be reactive or proactive. The reactive route opens the door for things like 9/11 or Pearl Harbor. The proactive approach leaves us with uninformed critics like you complaining about so called illegal wars. I like an America that "Speaks Softly and Carries A Big Stick". Lets take the fight to those who would seek to harm us while we sleep. We can be the best friend a nation could ever want or the force that stops oppression and terrorism. America will only be respected if we are a Lion, if we become the lamb that you invision then others will seek to dine on our carcass.

Thank you...

good come back i must say. however, one note for correction... believe it or not the nazis considered Nepal their ancestral land, allied themselves with the Japanese empire, and sent arms and aide to Ethiopia when it was attacked by Mussolini prior to the germano-italian alliance. These facts are not well known and just like poisoned candy the bad by far outweighs the good and it's very nature is questionable. needless to say i'm glad the world joined up against hitler an it may be the only justifiable war we, Americans, have engaged in in recent times. correct me if i'm wrong.

War is never right?

What if it is to prevent even more people being killed in the long-term?

Like when we stopped hitler from killing even more non-whites and liberated the concentration camps, through war.
