As revealed on this site many times, she did such activities mostly for fun and self satisfaction...but the money was also pretty good = more than enough to pay for extended stays within a playground. New Orleans presented an older, long established, sex scene. Some of the most intense entertainment was well hidden. That is there were little clubs within clubs, little hidden stages, stages that few of the regular tourists even knew existed.
The above shows a sequence that occurred on a more public stage. So, standard tourists did see something like the above, a couple of times per day.

However, these are the same families and owner operators who appreciated the history of the brothels and full sex performances. So... When she left the more public stage mostly stripped down, she only needed to walk down the hall and down a flight of stairs to reach the REAL performance area.
After every mild to moderate strip, for 6 weeks, she did go to a very isolated, member only, area. When that group saw her come into the room, they knew that "their show" was about to start.
