"Nature's Way", in my opinion, is that both men and women have that drive to procreate.
Just as it is in the animal world, typically the Alpha male (biggest, toughest, meanest, older and wiser) tends to attract the females who want to breed with them. In many cases, he may also attract the most females, and has his pick of the best of them.

Since everybody is not wired the same, there are (many?) cases where the female has the Alpha Male role, and have that overwhelming need to constantly breed, and will satisfy it however she needs to. The male, naturally, performs the more subservient role.
As women's opportunities have changed over the last 40+ years, there are likewise more opportunities for women to be the more aggressive mate, and now can be considered part of the "norm".

I read a story in which the author stated that natural selection operates in all species, including humans. The alpha males fuck and breed the females. The other males do not get to fuck the females but do support their needs for food and whatever else they need. This is to insure the propagation of the species, including the human species. So, it is a normal part of nature that the inferior males, like me and other inferior males, are cuckolds and do not get to fuck the females. The Alpha males insure the inferior males do not fuck and breed the females through intimidation and fighting if necessary. Human culture has modified Natural Selection so that even inferior males can fuck and breed females.
