White girls have them. Are the family ok with them after they are born?Do they become part of the family and treated like the other grand kids?

Well???What about it Grand Dad and mother

"Mulatto" isn't used much any more because it's a disparaging term. It was invented from "mule," (i.e., the sterile offspring of a horse and a donkey) suggesting that Blacks and whites were actually different species.

biracial would be a more "politically correct" term i suppose than mulatto, but i do hear e it used. as far as the main question...well i'm sure that depends on each persons family, friends and experiences. some families are obviously ok with it, some obviously accept it (although they prob rather it not be the case), and others have serious family issues due to racism/discrimination. with name redneck i would bet youre family wouldnt be too happy!

Such a simplistic (simple-minded, actually) question, with an obviously wide range of possible answers.

It usually depends on the circumstances into which the off-spring was born, for example: Are the parents of this 'interacial' infant married, is it a congenial relationship, what is the intellectual/intelligence level of the family, are the parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles, etc., college graduates or thugs?

These and many other considerations would need to be looked at before AN EDUCATED GUESS could be made at whether or not the infant would be treated like the rest of the family...

One of my cousins married a biracial guy last year. Most of the family was fine with it and any children that the marriage produces. But two older uncles both from the USA said some horrible things about them. I doubt they are aware that I date black guys. I was pretty surprised at their reaction. You just can't tell. In any case, I'm not planning on having children for a long time if at all.

Who would know there are to many factors involved from where the family lives to the way the family thinks about race to the schools hell Randy said it a educated guess that is what a question like this is because who knows but the family where he or she is raised now there is the next question which would be affected more a girl or boy.

Ain't no such thing as a mulatto.

The world views you as black(or in some cases if you're closer to white, white.)

Just look at Obama! They hardly ever called him mix or Biracial.

I believe the biracial takes role of the parent they favor more. Like, if you're a boy, and your dad is black, who knows, you may take after him and identify with him more. I'm not sure. It's just from what I've seen. I had a lot of biracial friends growing up, which is why I'm not too hung up on "IR fantasies"

blackyng you are soo wrong dude. mulatto is def a term used by whites...certainly nothing like the N word but it is derogatory nevertheless.

I know, it's a word, but I'm speaking in a perceived sense. Not literal.

Obama isn't Biracial, He's black(at least that's how they view him)
No such thing as a mixed slave, He/she is black.

I guess people still think about "One drop" rules which I find retarded. I'm just talking from a perceived sense. I haven't heard Mulatto in a while, but I have heard a pornstar on tv said, Obama shouldn't run, he's black.

What was the pornstar's name? I suspect that most of us on here would like to boycott his or her films. No matter what politics/economics each of us supports...racism is a bad thing to support with our dollars.

I'm not sure. I'm not familiar with professional porn, so you'll have to excuse the ignorance on my part.

I saw it while watching television and it talked about Pornostar's political views. Well, they compiled what the dumbest clips said by pornostars about the Canidates. The pornostar said " His mom is white? wait, Isn't his dad black?" and then proceeded with that comment. I'm not sure if she was purposely active clueless like Jessica Simpson or did she really meant that.

We can cross her off the IR porn list LOL.

i never realized the term mulato was derogatory. i know several people with bi-racial children.......not just black and white........and never realized it was bad terminology.
