I had a similar experience. After one microsoft back up i got the dreaded blue screen of death. My only option was to take my computer to a repair shop (well a garage from which the guy worked in a nearby town). it is, but how many people remember before computers, when photographs had to be printed out from negatives. For both my first girlfriend (87-88) and my second girlfriend (1989-90) the only photos i took of them were on film. For the first GF it was just a few nude frontals taken on a film that had photos of animals at London Zoo. I took the film to the chemist to get processed but we both went to collect them when they were ready (remember it took a few days as film sent off and then returned to chemist). I took the envelope of photos from the chemist and handed them to my GF to check as I paid. I worked in a photo processing plant during college. It was the larges film processing plant in the state so we took in rolls of film from the entire state. Even though it was automated, someone still had to operate the machine and push the button on each negative. It was all men doing this back then and we all got very good at looking at negatives and picking out sexy photos. We would make an extra copy and those went into scrapbooks. there were at least 10 books full of racy photos from lingerie to full sex shots. I even saw some girls I knew from high school in there.

I always wondered if it was full automated or if people were actually involved -- due to censorship laws in UK in 70s, 80s, 90s there must have been a lot of temptation by operators to take their own copies
