in my experience, most of the women your average male caucasian traveler comes in touch with in the far east are attracted by financial stability, 3 meals a day, being able to help out their immediate family and the prospect of sorting out their life in such a way that would be out of their reach with the local guys of their immediate social/work environment. If it so happens that they actually fall in love with the man, that's a bonus..but it's not necessarily an imperative. I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions, and that love plays all sort of tricks on one's life.. but money is extremely, extremely important to the chinese (I'll stick to them because they're the ones I've had most dealings with).
