You say that you are in a 20 year marriage. Well, based on my understanding of things, two dynamics are at work. The first may be boredom. The second one is social change. I would guess that it is easier to talk about various kinks than it was 20 years ago. This is due to the mainstreaming of pornography, women's magazines being more direct in addessing sexual concerns, and the rise of the internet.
