To make a long story a little bit shorter, I think what happened was her lover got married to another woman, and the new wife didn't want him with my wife anymore. Both women met through him, and they knew he was fucking both of them, but they became friends anyway. After he got married, he did make love to my wife a couple more times, but than ended it.
